Cyclone Debbie Couldn’t Stop Tegan & Kieran’s Wedding at Flaxton Gardens
Tegan and Kieran celebrated their Flaxton Gardens Wedding on 30th March, the day that Ex-Cyclone Debbie unleashed her heavy rain and cyclonic wind on the Sunshine Coast.
When Tegan and Kieran initially visited Flaxton Gardens, they “fell in love with the venue at first sight”, but also felt reassured that Flaxton Gardens offered a wet weather option if required. Of course, they didn’t realise at the time that they would actually need to employ this option on their wedding day!
Flaxton Gardens offers a range of location options for your ceremony and reception. When the weather doesn’t cooperate on your special day, and your ceremony is planned for one of our gorgeous outdoor garden areas, arrangements can quickly be made to move the ceremony indoors to the Barrel Room or Winery.
This was the case for Tegan and Kieran, however the change in plan didn’t appear to phase the bride and groom, as Tegan advised that her most precious memory of the day was, “The intimate ceremony that my husband and I got to share with our close friends and family. Although there was cyclonic weather occurring outside, the Flaxton Garden venue (the Winery) made for an amazing love filled bunker and perfect place for us to exchange our vows.”
Most Unique Feature of Flaxton Gardens
Tegan felt the most unique thing about Flaxton Gardens was “The opportunity to have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all in one place, across three or more different sections of the venue. The artificial stars above the dance floor was also a very unique aspect that was also included in the package pricing.”
Another feature that Tegan found quite unique to Flaxton Gardens is the extensive range of on-site photography opportunities around the venue and also in the grounds of our accommodation options, such as Flaxton Grove. Even with the cyclonic weather experienced that day, their wedding photographer, Bernadette Draffin, was able to find some protected locations around the venue and the weather itself also made for some amazing images for the couple, as can be seen below.
Best Piece of Advice
The best piece of advice the Flaxton Gardens Wedding Team gave Tegan was “Regardless of what happens on the day, we will take care of it”. This was very reassuring to the couple in the lead up to their wedding. Tegan recalled “on the day there were many things that the FG team handled discreetly with sheer professionalism and diplomacy… it wasn’t until the following day that our guests told us about how well the FG team had handled these situations on our behalf.”
Finally, the one thing that Tegan and Kieran would tell other brides-to-be considering Flaxton Gardens… “Just do it, FG and their experienced team are five star, you will not regret your decision, they are amazing in every aspect of wedding planning and hosting.”
The entire Flaxton Gardens Team wish Tegan and Kieran all the very best for their life together as husband and wife, and we hope to see you back here again soon!
